Kundalini Yoga
“Just as all rivers end up in the ocean, all yoga ends up raising the Kundalini. What is Kundalini? It is the creative potential of the human being”. - Yogi Bhajan.
Kundalini Yoga is a powerful and transforming system of yoga. This system combines asana/ kriya, pranayama (breath work), mantra and meditation suitable for beginners as well as advanced students. Kundalini Yoga can be practiced by anyone and is a science that works on all levels (physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual) and has the power to transform a person’s destiny. The power of Kundalini Yoga is in the actual experience. It goes straight to the heart - no words can replace that experience!
Kundalini comes from the Sanskrit word ‘kundal’ which means ‘lock of hair of the beloved’. The Kundalini energy that resides coiled at the base of the spine, once uncoiled can rise through the spine and chakras (energy wheels of the body). Kundalini is the creative potential that already exists in all of us, however, it often lays dormant. The purpose of Kundalini Yoga is to release this energy slowly in order to connect to our true path.
He brought the sacred discipline of Kundalini Yoga (“Yoga of Awareness”) to the west in the 1960’s. Yogi Bhajan worked diligently to spread the science and practice of Kundalini Yoga throughout the Western Hemisphere and beyond, he was an accepted world leader and an advocate of world peace and healing.
He believed everyone had the birth right to be “Happy, Healthy, and Holy”.
